or more than a hundred years, the citizens of Owensboro, Kentucky cultivated an impressive array of performing arts organizations. However, deficient facilities encumbered growth: groups were forced to use abandoned churches and hotels, school assembly halls, and other limiting spaces.
Through grants the River Park Center was able to be constructed.
Construction commenced in early 1991 and River Park Center opened in September 1992.
Multi-purpose facilities were designed to accommodate the needs of local land touring arts organizations. River Park is intimate enough to host recitals, children's programs, community theatre, and small ensemble concert sand yes even ghost!
More than just actors loom about this beautiful place! It had a Lady in white who had been seen a by many people walking above a grid behind Cannon Hall! Other ghost had been known to haunt this place too. There is a legend about a lady who jumped to her death around the turn of the century where the River Park centre stands now. Could this be our lady in white???? Ask Mr. Wolfe about this story and more!!!
Ask about the Bluegrass Museum Haunts as well!!!!!
